A recent graduate in computer science, Kevin Shum ’19 (@kevinshum) is taking part in MISTI Africa, interning at @OZEapp, a business coaching platform to help small businesses grow in Ghana, and helping teach web design and development with the Global Startup Labs team at University of Ghana. He’s pictured here with the OZÉ team (1), hard at work in the office (2), lecturing about the cloud at the university (3), exploring Jamestown and the coastline of Accra (4-6), trying fufu for the first time (7), learning how to play aslatua rhythm shakers (8), and celebrating my birthday with a spectacular cake and dancing (9)! Mornings are for Boker Tovs and pans of shakshuka, afternoons for training neural networks at a startup for self-driving cars, evenings for scaling the coast of the Mediterranean Sea by foot, and weekends for exploring Israel's vibrant and diverse culture with friends! I'm An Jimenez (Class of 2021, computer science), and here's a collection of photos from our weekend trips outside of and around Tel-Aviv, Israel: hiking Masada at sunrise, touring Jerusalem with MIT pals, running in the sand at Gordon Beach, navigating through the Negev desert, and even traveling to Athens, Greece for 48 hours!
